Toy Library at West Berks Mencap Open!

West Berkshire Mencap’s Toy Library is now open for families and carers to use for children aged up to five years old.

The Toy Library allows carers to rent out equipment or play equipment for a week, to test out whether they are beneficial for their child before making what can often be an expensive purchase.

The Toy Library is open on Wednesdays from 9.30am to 12pm at the Mencap Centre at Enborne Gate for families who attend West Berkshire Mencap’s Bubble Club, and 12.30pm to 3pm at the Slater Centre on Hambridge Road for the use of the general public. Rental Charges vary from £1 to £5.

Leila Ferguson, Chief Executive at West Berkshire Mencap said “Having access to the toy library means that vulnerable children can now ‘try before they buy’. It is a fantastic opportunity to borrow and trial new play equipment.”
