alltogether

Exhibits such as a poignant small ceramic work full of emotion, Safely Gathered In by Christine King depicting two figures close together sharing a tender moment. Emma Moscow’s selection of couture hats and headdresses show her unique creations made from felt, fabric, straw and sinamay are artful and sophisticated.

Beyond the Dunes is an oil painting by Jane Skingley. It conveys space and distance in a dynamic way with pale sand stretching to the sea, but a hint of menace lurking in a band of dark sky on the horizon. Steve Giles’ wood sculpture Monkey Puzzle Form is a sculptural, decorative piece. Its beauty lies in its rounded, tapering form. The grain, inclusions and knots found in the wood give it pattern and appeal.Lazy Descent a garden art sculpture in Mild Steel by Diccon Dadey is a panther poised to jump down from a height, perhaps pursuing prey. This piece demonstrates the power, strength and beauty of this predatory animal. In contrast Milly and Molly by Marie Ackers is a tiny Raku Ceramic just 17 cms tall. This is of two cheetahs, a mother and cub, portraying a maternal and protective relationship between the two animals, a gentler side to ‘big cats’.

INSIGHT is a popular and loved exhibition and over a thousand people regularly visit over the May period. Running until 25th May the exhibition is open daily Monday to Sunday and free to visit from 11am to 5pm, with late night opening on Thursdays until 8pm.
