Christmas jumper campaign

Racing Post, the daily racing news and betting publisher, has unveiled its very own Christmas jumper range – four winning designs will go on sale today to raise valuable funds for the Injured Jockeys Fund and Irish Injured Jockeys.

High-profile racing figures including leading jockeys Sam Twiston-Davies, AP McCoy, Richie McClernon and Noel Fehily, along with trainer Charlie Longsdon and owner Andy Stewart have already supported the initiative and the chunky winter knitwear was officially launched on Thursday during the opening day of The bet365 Hennessy Festival at Newbury Racecourse.

The winter warmers come in four festive designs and a range of sizes from small to extra-large. It will cost only a few Nicholls to look like Twiston-Davies and the leading jumps jockey said: “It’s a great cause and that’s all my Christmas presents sorted for the family this year.  Hopefully they will sell by the sleigh-load!”

Owner Stewart, whose black, white and red colours feature in one of the designs, commented: “While I will be at home in Barbados this Christmas I will wear mine with pride. #Jumpers4Jockeys is a fun idea, with all proceeds going to two top-class charities. I hope they raise Big Buck’s for them!”

John Francome, President of the Injured Jockeys Fund commented, “I’ve done my 12 jumpers to follow for this season so now here’s a #Jumpers4Jockeys to buy.”

The famous green and gold silks Christmas jumper is the real McCoy for fans of jump racing’s most famous owner and it would Defy Logic not to get More Of That and buy one for a friend or family member. Otherwise, Don’t Push It – just get one for yourself.

And there are two additional styles to choose from. One features Father Christmas and the other his most famous four-legged friend Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer, who will leave racing fans young and old glowing with delight this Christmas.

The charity Christmas jumpers are available to purchase on the Racing Post online shop racingpost.com/shop at £14.99 each (including post and packaging), with all proceeds split between the two charities. While they will be the envy of international racefans and fashionistas, they’ve been manufactured in the UK.
