A multi-talented Hungerford mum is using her skills to help out other busy business parents.
When Laura Cooper’s son Lorcan was born last Christmas day, she knew she could never return to the 11 hour days her previous job required.
So the former campaigns manager launched a personal assistant company with a difference.
Trading as Pink Spaghetti, the 30-year-old sells her time by the hour to hectic local small business owners, consultants and freelancers.
“There’s a burgeoning number of micro-businesses across Berkshire,” explained Laura, “many of which operate from people’s homes and are not in a position to employ a full time or even part time assistant.
“That is where I come in. I can take over the tasks that no business owner enjoys, from doing their social media to finding new suppliers and creating newsletters. I can knock up a great spreadsheet! Basically, Pink Spaghetti exists to take away the leg work from a business owner and give them more time to spend on the parts of their business that they enjoy – and of course with their family.
“I believe I am unique in that I offer small businesses as many hours support as they want, without making them commit to a regular contract.
Laura, who has previously worked in retail, team management and sales, anticipates that many of her clients will be working mums, juggling businesses and domestic tasks throughout the day.
“This is my life too!” she said “and I completely understand if someone wants me to seek out a venue for a kid’s party, eBay a load of old toys and find them a reliable cleaner as well”.
