According to research from the BFI and British Film Commission, one in ten foreign visitors comes to the UK as a result of seeing the country depicted in film. The VisitBritain Destination PR team has put together its first guide to British Film and TV for international media looking to go beyond the on-screen story to the real life one.

One of the world’s best loved bears will be given the star treatment this year, when the new Paddington movie is released. Following the iconic children’s character’s adventures through London and Britain, the film is set to get kids – and adult fans – wanting to follow in the hero’s ‘pawsteps.’ Find out here how to get started…
Royal Yacht Britannia buys new vessel to transform into luxury ‘boatique’ hotel
The Royal Yacht Britannia has announced that it has acquired the iconic heritage vessel MV Windsor Castle. In a near £1 million investment, this classically designed ship is to be converted into a 25 bedroom luxury ‘boatique’ hotel. She will be berthed permanently, adjacent to Britannia in Edinburgh’s historic port of Leith. Find out more about this new accommodation option in Scotland here.

Bombay Sapphire Gin Distillery at Laverstoke Mill, Hampshire, to open October 2014
The BOMBAY SAPPHIRE® gin distillery at Laverstoke Mill in Hampshire is opening its doors to the public for the very first time on 1 October 2014. A range of behind-the-scenes experiences will showcase the craftsmanship and creativity that are infused into every drop of Bombay Sapphire gin. Guests will discover what makes Bombay Sapphire such a distinctive gin on their own terms and in their own time as they explore the distillery with an interactive map, providing guidance on this journey of self-discovery.
