On Saturday 13th September, The Thames Valley Kings will be hosting a 10 hour wheelchair basketball marathon at Kennet Leisure Centre, Thatcham, where members of the team will attempt to play wheelchair basketball non-stop.
As part of this marathon, we hope to give local groups of people, whether from local businesses or other sporting clubs, the opportunity to join us and PLAY wheelchair basketball alongside us in a fun environment. Don‘t Worry, We will provide everything you need to play including the use of a specialist sport wheelchair.
We are planning for 20 teams of 6 people to play for 1 hour, who will be joined by our players from the Club. The club players will teach you some basketball skills and then there will be a Match. Registration is open for teams of six players with an £20 entry fee for each person, which will include a special commentative T-Shirt (shirt sizes will be requested in the sign up page) – plus a one-off £4.50 Transaction fee per team – for a total of just £124.50 for a Six Member Team.
Every hour between 8am and 6pm will be a timeslot for two teams to play alongside us, Hour slots will be on a first come, first serve basis so book in early to get your preferred slot.
Why Register:
• Great as a team building exercise
• Help a local sport team development the potential of our players who could be among the next generation of Paralympic GB stars
• Learn something challenging and new
• See Wheelchair Basketball in a new light
