Holiday club with a difference

Alder Bridge School in Padworth, a Steiner-Waldorf School, has revealed its plans for their 2013 summer holiday club.

The new idea seeks to recapture the magic of summer holidays past whilst raising money for the self funded school. They will split the club into several classes focusing on different interests including cookery, dance and craft.

Gyorgyi Barnard, organiser of the new activities explains “We would like our children to have an inspiring experience with all the joys of being in nature or free to be creative, as the busy parents of today once enjoyed.”

Classes include Busy Bees, a fortnight club for 3 – 6 year olds with craft, play, songs and stories, Drama and Dance, a 3-day course for 6 – 11 and 12-16 year olds working with choreographer Tom Jackson Greaves, Make your own Band, a 3-day course run by Caroline Stephenson, and one day courses in craft and cookery.

Caroline commented “We have a range of exciting and inspiring activities available, from a single day session, to a fortnight of creative summertime adventures. These are not Steiner classes, as such, but we do share the same ethos of freedom of play and a caring, supportive environment.”

Days run 9.30am to 3.30pm and prices start from £22 per day. Deadline to book places is Friday 12 July. Go to www.alderbridge.org.uk for more information.
