Motor City Memories presents The Sounds of The Supremes

SUPREME

Motor City Memories presents The Sounds of The Supremes led by ‘70’s/’80’s “Supreme” Kaaren Ragland with special guest  JOHNNY BRITT.

The Supremes’ music personified the Motown Sound that influenced a generation, which has shown itself to be one of the most definitive and enduring contributions to American Pop music history. Since 1989 The Sounds of the Supremes (the only group of their type legally endorsed by Motown*) led by Kaaren Ragland, a former member of original Supreme Mary Wilson’s 70s/80s group have achieved a remarkable degree of worldwide success. London’s What’s On described their incomparable energy packed show featuring more than 20 hit songs as “a non-stop style bravura performance of immense vitality” recreating “perfectly the frenetic sound of the original lineup”: http://www.soundsofthesupremes.com

These three American women possess a wealth of experience in recording, television, cabaret, theater and musicals, and deliver a fantastic vocal blend on re-worked Motown classics, standards, contemporary songs, stylish choreography and unrivaled glamour. They released “Live At Highclere Castle” (iTunes) in 2007 and in addition to the UK will tour Australia in June & July and appear at Nokia Halls, Tel Aviv later this year with Seven Time Grammy Award winner Dennis Edwards’ Temptations Review.

For the groups’ 2014 U.K. tour that begins April 30 at Rothes Halls, Glenrothes, Scotland and ends May 12 at the Hayes, Beck Theatre, England the ladies are joined by “special guest” Motown Recording Artist Johnny Britt of “Imprompt2”. “Beautiful Queen” is the current release from his current solo recording “Feels So Good” featuring Jessy J on G Music.

MOTOWN RECORDING ARTIST AND LEAD SINGER OF IMPROMP2 JOHNNY BRITT

Otis Williams and Melvin Franklin, legendary founders of the Temptations discovered vocalist, trumpeter, songwriter, producer Johnny Britt and hired him to become The Temptations’ youngest ever musical director. This immediately led the young musical director/singer to a recording contract with Motown Records. This also was the key to Britt being hired by Suzanne Depasse to become the co-music producer and vocalist of the Emmy Award Winning TV Miniseries “The Temptations.” Britt later would sign a second time to Motown Records with his internationally acclaimed group, “Impromp2” and would hold top chart positions on the UK Solar Radio stations. Britt performed in the UK at the Weekender Soul Fest in Birmingham, England as the opening act for Bobby Womack. Britt also toured throughout the UK with “The Temptations.” He also scored a #1 hit single in the UK “In The Meantime” (as a solo artist) featured in the movie, City Lights.

Britt has received Gold and Platinum status with the Temptations and Boney James. He has worked behind the scenes in the recording studio and live on stage with some of the most prevalent artists in the industry including: Quincy Jones, Josh Groban, David Bowie, Jennifer Lopez, The Temptations, Peabo Bryson, Luther Vandross, Little Anthony and The Imperials and others. The songs “Contact,” “The Total Experience” (featuring George Duke) and “Grand Central” were all co-written by Britt and each went to number one on the Billboard Charts.

Britt’s UK tour performances will feature his soulful tenor vocals and magnificent horn playing on songs that he produced and sang on for “The Temptations” movie including Get Ready, Just My Imagination, Papa Was A Rollin Stone, My Girl, and more, as well as Tracks Of My Tear by the legendary Smokey Robinson.

Britt has a new single just released in America 3/17/14 “Beautiful Queen” featuring Jessy J. He also just wrote and produced for Jessy J’s new single “Second Chances” released in the U.S March 2014.

Prestigious projects Britt has contributed musically include the feature films “Water For Elephants,” “Ides Of March,” “The Lion King,” “Forest Gump,” and “Spiderman 3.” Britt was also involved as music producer on several television projects, including “The Temptations Story,” “The Little Richard Story,” and “America Sings.”
