West Berkshire Artist Features at Wiltshire Sculpture Exhibition
New work by noted local sculptor Johannes Von Stumm will be exhibited at a major exhibition of sculpture taking place at privately owned garden West Lavington Manor. The garden includes a series of rooms, extensive lawns, a trout stream and lake and a wonderful variety of specimen trees all enclosed by listed brick walls. Work in stone, steel and glass by Johannes will be installed in three colour themed gardens.
Other work throughout the garden has similarly been carefully selected to create an interesting dynamic between the art and the garden such that the visitor experiences both in new ways.
The exhibition at West Lavington starts on 5 June and is open Thursdays – Sundays until 22 June. Full details are available at www.friendsofthegarden.org.uk
This is the fourth biannual exhibition staged by voluntary organisation Friends of the Garden. We are committed to showcasing the work of emerging and leading contemporary sculptors in a garden setting. All work is for sale and a small commission of 20% is designed to maximise income for participating artists, cover exhibition costs, and raise additional funds for initiatives to support 3D arts in Wiltshire. West Lavington Manor is privately owned and the owners wish to use the exhibition to support local charities especially those working with young people. We are working with four local charities each of which will use the exhibition to raise funds for its own activities.
