THE WATERMILL SENIOR YOUTH THEATRE Presents LIFE LESSONS
Written and directed by Beth Flintoff
Designed by Libby Todd
Lighting designed by Nick Flintoff
With their usual energy and enthusiasm, the twenty five members of The Watermill Senior Youth Theatre, ages from 11 to 16, have been rehearsing for their latest production, Life Lessons. The show, which runs from 26 to 29 March at The Watermill, is set during the chaotic last day of term at Ackland College. Life Lessons has been written specially for the company by Beth Flintoff, who also directs the play:
“What goes on at school can represent the entire parameters of a child’s world – certainly it did for me when I was a teenager. So it seemed appropriate to explore the nature of good and bad schools for our youth theatre production. Fortunately for us, this school is a terrible one! We have had a lot of fun finding out what could possibly go wrong on the last day of term in a school where the Headmaster has no idea what is going on, his staff are on the edge of meltdown, and the students seem to be the only ones with really any sense.”
Youth Theatre productions at The Watermill are afforded the same level of professional support given to all other shows the theatre stages. Professional directors, designers and lighting designers work with the young people alongside The Watermill’s production, stage management and administration teams.
