What is The Big Match?

This Charity event featuring public, celebs and ex pros is on the fixture list for May 31st. And we cannot wait.

Starting in 2012 as a kick about on the Madejski pitch and raising £8,000, The Big Match went into 2013 with sights set high. We aimed to make the event much bigger and a day where everyone could come along and have a great time, and we achieved just that! The Kids Session sold out in weeks, Hayley Newton and her team from Italia Conti put on a fantastic pre match performance. Fergal the Fox got the crowd going with the Boom Boom sticks from Tresor Paris, and Sponge Bob missed a penalty!!

The Match was won by Action for Children 4-2 which was down to a fine goal keeping display from EX Liverpool and England Star Neil “Razor” Ruddock.

The Big Match went on to “Extra Time” which is the evening event at the Hilton, This dress to impress Dinner was Hosted By Suzanne Shaw and Matt Evers. We had entertainment from Jaz Ellington (VOICE) Bobby Davro, Tim Vine, Concept, Tobias Mead (BGT) and Italia Conti. The evening concluded with a charity auction and Dance. 2013 was a fantastic year for The Big Match but more importantly for the two charities that it supports, The Brain Tumour Charity and Action for Children. The event raised a Massive £65,000 and has made a huge difference to these two causes.

We really want to smash 2014 and we need your help.

Madejski Stadium

The kids session is taking place on the pitch before the main event and we have places available for children aged between 5 and 15 to register and take part.

The Session will be taken by professional coaches and there will be some professional footballers (to be confirmed) offering advice and tips . Colin Nell and Noel Battle two of best freestylers will be available for children to learn freestyle football skillz.

All that is required is the Children raise a minimum sponsorship of £50.00 per child which will go directly to Action for Children and The Brain Tumour Charity, and that they bring big smiles and want to have fun. All children will receive a goodie bag to take away.
