Newbury-based RAB Specialist Engineers have signed a three-year sponsorship deal with Thatcham Town Girls U11s football team beginning from now, until the end of the football season in 2016.
With this sponsor money, The U11s girls’ team can purchase essential new football equipment and a brand new football kit. The club aims to promote the opportunities available for girls in the local area to take part in what has now become the biggest female team sport in England.
Neil Penny, Coach for the U11s girls’ team, said: “We’re very grateful for this generous sponsorship deal with RAB Specialist Engineers as it will give a huge boost to the team. It means we are able to promote the club and sponsorship jointly as we play the various teams in the Berkshire County Girls Football League. We actively encourage more girls to play football through our schools coaching sessions and tournaments in what is predominantly a male dominated sport.”
Neil continues: “Through our club, we focus not only on the competitive nature of the game but also providing a fun and enjoyable environment for our players to learn new skills and teamwork. As a club we are always looking for new sponsors so if other companies are interested in sponsoring the club or a specific team, please contact us via our website.”
Furthermore, the new football kit will also help raise the profile of a Newbury-based start-up up firm – JuBerry Fabrics & Designs. Their logo shall feature on the front of the kit’s t-shirt.
Richard Betts, local entrepreneur and managing director of RAB Specialist Engineers said: “I’ve worked in this area for many years so it’s great to have the opportunity to give something back to the local community. Football allows youngsters from all ages and backgrounds to come together and have fun, keep fit, improve their self-esteem and create new friendships. The new training equipment and kit will help give the girls’ teams a more professional look.”
