The winners of this year’s Think Big! competition have been announced following the Grand Final on Tuesday 16 July at Shaw House.
Students from three West Berkshire schools had the opportunity to present their creative ideas to panel of judges. Each team had to come up with a new service or a product for the future and work on a business plan. These were judged by volunteers Greg Rudman from Atlantis Media and Clare Pringle from Kier Construction.
The Grand Final, sponsored by the Kier Construction, was the culmination of a series of in-school events organised by the Education Business Partnership West Berkshire.
The judging panel had the opportunity to meet with the teams from Kennet School, Thatcham, The Willink School, Burghfield and The Downs School, Compton. They were then joined by parents and business volunteers who came to watch the students’ presentations.
The winning team were ‘The Healers’ (pictured) from The Downs School in Thatcham who designed a range of plasters which were able to aid the healing process for burns victims and malaria sufferers.
