The first in a series of children’s books, Greenham author Debbie Kelly introduces a new superhero, Alonzo the Chicken, to the unsuspecting public.
The first of six, ‘Alonzo and Molly the Mermaid’ tells the story of gadget-loving Alonzo who comes to the rescue of his friend Molly after she is kidnapped by pirates.
The books are dyslexic friendly and aimed at children aged six and older. Debbie Kelly, a former sales representative from Newbury, says “Alonzo was invented for my nephew . When he was little I used to make up stories about this crazy chicken and he would squeal with delight. So I thought I would write them down. I am half way through the second, Alonzo and his friends have a lot of exciting adventures ahead.”
