All About Gardening and Dogs Show comes to Newbury

Gardeners and dogs descended on Newbury Showground at the weekend for the ‘All About Gardening’ and ‘All About Dogs Show’.

For three days stalls were set up offer an assortment of home and garden products and services for the ‘All About Gardening Show’ which ran from Friday 12 to Sunday 14 April. There was also the chance to meet Ground Force’s Tommy Walsh on Saturday and celebrity chef Jean-Christophe Novelli on Sunday.

On Saturday and Sunday the show was joined by the ‘All About Dog Show’ with a host of canine stalls and activities including flyball and a dog show.

Jean-Christophe Novelli, who was demonstrating the many different dishes you can cook using a barbecue, said “I was hoping to demonstrate a versatile way to enjoy barbecues instead of just burgers and sausage and also the different dishes for vegetarians so they can enjoy the same experience. I did not use salt in my demonstration because we don’t use salt at all in my cookery school. It’s not about impressing people, it’s about passing on the message that you can enjoy good and exciting food without the excessive of salt and fat.

I have also been a judge at the All About Dog Show today but that was very hard because they are all beautiful animals. I used to have 25 dogs and I love animals.”
