The brand new Skiplex centre in Woodley celebrated its grand opening on Monday 3 December.

The indoor centre offers a new approach to learning to ski with its ‘endless ski slope’. Located in Headley Park Ten, it is the second centre of its kind following the opening of the first Skiplex centre in Chiswick last year.

The unique slope operates like a squash court sized treadmill with a carpet like material on the surface. Up to three people can ski or snowboard at a time. The track is controlled by a handheld remote control so elevation and speed can be altered to suit beginners, children and experts.

CEO Skiplex, Mark Strachan, said “Whilst there are over 100 centres across the world, indoor skiing on a never ending rotating piste is a new concept in the UK. Skiplex is delighted to be introducing this novel teaching and improvement method of skiing/snowboarding for the public.  It is a great platform for beginners, as well as young professionals who want to perfect their technique.”

All equipment is provided at the centre and no special clothing is needed so you can learn when you want and at your own pace. Find out more at http://www.skiplex.co.uk/home.aspx.
