Films to look out for on DVD in June
BY BUZZ

Now that the summer blockbuster season is in full swing with the likes of X-Men First Class and the soon to be released Captain America: The First Avenger, it is easy to forget the films which are coming out on DVD.
So here are my top 5 to look out for in June.
1. Unknown
Liam Neeson stars as Dr Martin Harris, a man whose life radically changes after he is replaced by another Martin Harris (Aiden Quinn) following a car crash. Neeson must then go on a hunt to find out who has destroyed his life and why, with the only lead being a Bosnian taxi driver (Dianne Kruger).
Fans of Neeson’s previous foray into the world of action films will be delighted that once again he is able to hold his own (and the film) on his shoulders as he did in Taken.
On shelves June 14.
2. The Adjustment Bureau
Matt Damon takes on the role of an up and coming U.S. Senator on the verge of winning his seat in the Senate. Along the way he meets a ballet dancer Elise (Emily Blunt – The Devil Wears Prada) and begins to fall in love with her. The agents of ‘The Adjustment Bureau’ have other plans for David (Damon) and will do everything in their power to stop them being together. David must make the choice, go with the Bureau, or go with Elise.
The film presents itself with an interesting premise and sets itself up as an edgy thriller and delivers on all fronts.
The Adjustment Bureau was one that was overlooked earlier in the year, don’t miss it now.

3. Red Riding Hood
Twilight director Catherine Hardwicke throws herself straight into the works with her adaptation, or rather re-telling, of the story of Red Riding Hood with Amanda Seyfried (Mamma Mia) in the title role.
In Hardwicke’s version Valerie (Seyfried) is a young woman who must choose between two men, one who her parents have arranged for her to be married to, and the unshaven and good looking outsider. As Valerie makes her choice she learns that her sister has been killed by a werewolf prowling the forest beyond the village. The town’s people now frightened call in a hunter (Gary Oldman). As the death toll mounts, Valerie suspects that the werewolf is in fact someone she loves.
Twilight fans will not be disappointed as Catherine Hardwicke once again proves that her field is the supernatural.

4. Battle: Los Angeles
Aaron Eckhart stars as the U.S Marine faced with an alien invasion and the task of rescuing civilians whilst defeating the aliens.
This film had such a hype surrounding its story that when the film was released it had a lot to live up to. And did it? Well critics were less than favourable to the film while audiences were left in a daze after the all-out action and special effects.
If that’s your beef though, then fear not as Battle: Los Angeles does exactly what it says on the tin.
5. Beastly
Hollywood revamps and gives the classic “Beauty and the Beast” story a make-over.
Set in New York, Kyle (Alex Pettyfer) is the teenager who has it all – looks, wealth and intelligence. However, when he blows off his date with a goth, she casts a spell on him to turn him into the thing he hates the most – ugly people. The only solution is to find someone who loves him and he stumbles upon a young girl who doesn’t have much in life, who he offers sanctuary in his Brooklyn apartment.
As with Red Riding Hood, Beastly is a “Teen Revamp” of a classic.
