The trend for this summer is the 70s revival. Marc Jacobs featured fabulous halter style dresses, and peasant blouses for his runway show, while Yves Saint Laurent featured sleek jumpsuits. The trend also leans towards wide-leg, flared trousers.
Beachwear has something for everyone. If you have a boyish body, try a bikini top with ruffles to add curves. Curvy girls should opt for a maillot that highlights a narrow waist. If you are pear-shaped, try mixing colours. Play up your smaller upper body with a bright shade, and disguise your lower half with a darker shade.
Thick wedges, and platforms are popular. For special occasions try stacked wooden heels in bold colours. Espadrilles are back and come in a variety of heights. If you want to lounge around the house, clogs are hot.
This is the year of Kate Middleton. In tribute to the upcoming royal nuptials the styles of two great Kates will be examined; Kate Middleton and Kate Moss. Their styles are simple to replicate on any budget.
If you admire Kate Middleton’s classic style, stick with simplicity. Choose wrap dresses and trench coats in strong shades. Flats and a simple clutch complete this look.
Kate Moss’ edgy style is easy to replicate. Choose a basic LBD and dress it up with a studded purse, ankle boots. Vintages pieces are an excellent option.
