Team NJW MoonWalk for Breast Cancer
Trudie Jedynak, Cerys Jones and Emma Holland (pictured) from local company NJW Limited took part in the 16th MoonWalk London on Saturday 11 May.
Team NJW from the workplace technology and service provider raised over £2000 by walking the 26.2 mile moonlit marathon.
Business and Commercial Director Trudie Jedynak says “Following my own experience with Cervical Cancer in 2010 and losing my best friend to breast cancer, the hardest part of the MoonWalk for me was the emotional side; I couldn’t have prepared myself for the overwhelming waves of emotion I felt. I would like to thank friends, colleagues and clients for the support, donations and well wishes.”
Operations Director Cerys Jones says “It was a challenging walk for me due to a recent operation. Despite friends and family advising me to pull out I was determined to at least walk the first mile with the team. However, the energy and determination of those participating in the event led me to accomplish 10 miles before eventually having to retire. I then cheered the team over the finish line.”
The MoonWalk London is organised by health charity Walk the Walk Worldwide. The MoonWalk is their flagship event and raised in excess of £5.8 million in 2012 alone, bringing the total to over £83 million in 15 years.
