Sainsbury’s Local Charity partner scheme is back for a fifth year and voting is already underway.

Customers can cast their votes between 1 & 15 May for their favourite charity and, for the first time, customers will be able to vote online as well as in-store.

The initiative gives local registered charities the chance to receive a year’s worth of fundraising and awareness support from store colleagues.

Over the last two years, customers and colleagues at the Newbury branch have helped raise £16,251 for Dingley Family & Specialist Early Years Centre and over £29,000 since the initiative began in 2009. Fundraising activities included Zumba night and a sponsored walk.

Sainsbury’s Newbury Store Manager Dene Burton says “We hope our customers can take the time to vote in the coming weeks and give a local charity that is close to their hearts the chance for us to support them. We would really like to find a charity in the heart of the local community where we can make a real difference.”

The winning charity will be revealed in June and you can vote by going to www.sainsburys.co.uk/localcharity or emailing your nomination to [email protected].
