Employees at John Lewis at home Newbury will donate one hour to charity as part of a new charity commitment.

For each gold medal Team GB win at the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, employees will be offering their support to local charities and organisation selected by Partners in branch.

Dominic Joyce, branch manager of the store, commented “Everyone at John Lewis at home Newbury is excited to be taking part in the initiative. We pride ourselves on being a part of the community and are delighted to be able to support local causes whilst also celebrating the success of Team GB.”

Dominic added: “We hope to provide real value to local charities and organisations by helping them in whatever way we can, whether that be assisting with fundraising efforts or by simply providing some much needed manpower.”

This new initiative joins other community projects the Newbury store has been involved since its grand opening in April. Others include the Community Matters scheme where customers can choose how £3,000 is split between three community groups every three months.
