The best way to detox
BY BUZZ
Now that the festive period is over and all the festive food and drink has disappeared it’s time to start thinking about a fresh start for your body.
Lots of people often take detoxing to the extreme, jumping into difficult excerise routines they’re unprepared for, and starving themselves instead of dieting. Detoxing doesn’t need to be painful. Here are some easy ways to ease yourself into a new routine.
Love your liver
Your liver is mainly responsible for cleansing the body of toxins so supporting your liver and making it’s job easier is vital. That means staying away from fatty meats and dairy products. You should also avoid or moderate your alcohol and caffeine intake.
Fruit and vegetable are a must as they are rich in important nutrients, such as vitamin C, and they are also high in fibre. Organic produce is best as these can be free of potentially toxic herbicides and pesticides. It’s important to remain hydrated so aim to drink around 7 to 10 average sized glassed of filtered water a day.
Routine
Start the day with a good tongue scrape. Sounds disgusting but it’s not nearly as disgusting as not doing it. Over night your body continues to detox so all that coating needs to come off first thing in the morning.
Sweat it out
Perspiration is one of your bodies own detoxifying methods so it’s very important when trying to expel toxins. Take a trip to a sauna or do some exercise. If you don’t do much exercise, start with a brisk walk each day and breath in some good clean air.
