Fancy a getaway over Easter? April is the perfect time of the year for a spring break. If you are taking the kids with you, head to Europe during the school holidays to enjoy rising temperatures on the continent.
Florida
Whether you’re off on a long-haul family holiday with lots of sun, or heading for the theme parks with your gang, stick with the Easter theme on an Alice-in-Wonderland-inspired trip to Florida.
There are also many stretches of sand like Daytona, Clearwater and St Pete’s to visit. Or, head to the Everglades National Park to spot alligators and turtles in the wild.
Cyprus
The average temperature in Cyprus in April makes it a great time to visit the island, with the weather reaching highs of 23 degrees. It is also a beach-holiday favourite, with 64 Blue Flag sandy spots to choose from, the buzzing bars of Ayia Napa to enjoy activities for all ages.
Majorca
Majorca’s temperatures reach the mid-teens in April, so shake off the winter chill without breaking a sweat. The largest of the Balearics, Majorca is full to the brim with beautiful beaches, tonnes of buzzing bars and clubs, plus you can stretch your legs exploring its pine forests and mountains paths.
Lanzarote
The Canary Islands are well known for being warm throughout the year and by the Easter break it will really have started to heat up in Lanzarote, reaching the mid-20s. Visit Timanfaya National Park to ride camels and learn about the volcanic eruption that created the island’s barren landscape 300-years ago or relax on the beaches.
Cypriot legend claims Aphrodite, the Greek goddess of love, was born and rose from the foam near a rock off what is now Aphrodite’s Beach. Waves breaking over the rock create pillars of foam that islanders say look just like the goddess herself.
