Small Local Businesses Vs The National Three Peaks

Small businesses Motech Autocentres and Nightingale Fitness are both taking part in The National Three Peaks challenge in aid of local New Life Special Care Babies charity.

? 21 walkers will scale the three highest peaks in the UK within 24 hours, on the Bank Holiday at the end of May.
? They will start by climbing Ben Nevis in Scotland on Saturday, then drive to the Lake District to climb Scafell Pike, and finally drive to Wales to climb Snowdon.
? They aim to raise at least £2500 for New Life.

Trevor Goodall launched the charity New Life in 1995 in memory of his sons Joshua and Samuel who were born 3 months early and both sadly died after a week. This inspired Trevor to do something and each year the charity goes from strength to strength.

New Life is a charity dedicated to raising money for local special care baby units, increasing the chances of survival for many premature and seriously ill babies.

To date Trevor and his volunteers have raised in excess of £500,000.00 helping hospitals such as Swindon, Reading, Yeovil, Basingstoke, Bristol and Oxford.
Joanna Nightingale, owner of Nightingale Fitness, met Trevor when she volunteered at the New Life Charity Golf Day in September 2017, which raised £22,000 in a single day!

Many of the fundraising events that New Life organise are based around fitness challenges, and with a
captive client base looking to be active, it made sense that Joanna wanted to encourage her “FitFam” of clients to participate.
She said: “Nightingale Fitness often organises events for its clients to keep them active in different ways, but this is by far the most adventurous and it is great to be able to raise some money for a local charity while doing it!”

Rebecca Ruesing, owner of Motech Autocentres Ltd and a keen client of Nightingale Fitness, jumped at the opportunity to raise some money for the charity by participating in the challenge.
Rebecca said: “I have always been interested in doing an event like this and knowing I have the support of Nightingale Fitness, I thought it was an opportunity I couldn’t miss. As a local business owner it is great to be able to get involved with a local charity and hopefully make a difference for such a worthy cause.”

There are seven Nightingale Fitness clients in the team and training is in full flow with long walks being organised every Sunday in the weeks leading up to the challenge.
The team of 21 walkers and 3 drivers will set off from Newbury on Friday 25th May and return on Monday 28th May, having conquered the 3 highest peaks in the United Kingdom all within 24 hours! All for a very special charity.
