Britain’s position is potentially calamitous; it is a small over-populated and under-resourced island in an over-populated and under-resourced world. It becomes increasingly apparent that the financial crisis which developed in 2008 only exacerbated the existing chronic problems in the British economy. These problems call for a fundamental review, not only of our economy, but of our belief systems.
The secularisation of society has reduced respect for religious principles such as truth, so that politicians do not get to grips with obvious failings such as lack of employment opportunities in some areas of the country, but instead worship false gods such as wind turbines and European Union.
William Deller claims that British society is limited, if not crippled, by the common belief that each person has only one life on earth. This belief is shallow, negative and counter-productive. It means that each person is expected to fulfil themselves within the short space of an earthly lifetime, and that those who do not are utter failures, which is an inducement for bad behaviour if not criminality. The principle of reincarnation, with the possibility of a series of lives, each in some way reflecting one’s achievements in previous lives, provides a pathway for upward evolution for individual souls and for society.
Britain’s future is dark without a New deal to reinvigorate the soul of Britain and prepare us for immense global challenges of the 21st century.
