Commemorative displays of material about what was then called “The Great War” are being shown on both floors of the library throughout September. A book list of ‘recommended reading’ has also been printed which is available free of charge at the library.

Following the introductory meetings the week before, auditions for Acorn Antiques will take place on Sunday.
Come and try out for a part in this fab show.
KATS next production is Acorn Antiques The Musical The hunt is on for a crack team to take on the show of a lifetime. They will need great comic timing, strong singing voices, tap dancing, and for the lead role… a thick Brummie accent, varicose veins and your own yellow rubber gloves.
Wrinkly tights, coconut macaroons, eye shadow and Mrs Overalls home-made sherry trifle are all visibly waiting in the wings. A pastiche of poor soap operas, including wobbly sets and props and some rather obvious, stylised characters who invariably miss lines and overact.
This is one production you would be a few digestives short of a full packet to miss!

This exciting networking venture in Hungerford attracts a host of talented professionals from the town and beyond with an average of 40 – 50 people in attendance. It is held monthly at the Herongate Leisure Centre in Hungerford, the breakfast event is designed for business professionals from the picturesque town, together with those from neighbouring Newbury, Swindon, Marlborough and nearby villages.
The Hungerford Big Business Breakfast Club offers something different and provides a great chance to network without becoming a duty. There are lots of networking groups competing for attention, some demand membership fees and ban competing businesses; others expect nothing other than you turn up. The idea behind this is the chance to meet like-minded professionals and network over coffee, before really getting to know the people at your table, while served one of the best breakfasts available.
