The third Rookwood Spring Garden and Gift Fair is to take place on Thursday 24th April 2014 from 9.30 am to 7.00 pm. A perfect opportunity to buy items for summer planting, gifts and to see around Charlotte and Rupert Digby’s exciting valley garden, which is continuingly evolving.
Knight Frank, Hungerford are again generously sponsoring the event and are joined by Hartwood Oak, Charles, Lucas & Marshall, Grundon and Styles of Hungerford with funds going to British Red Cross to support their work in Berkshire.
Chelsea medal winning nurseries, Hardy’s Cottage Garden Plants, Heucheraholics and Edulis, with their edible plants will be joined by clematis specialist Marcus Dancer, unusual plants from Phoenix Plants and Spring Hill Nurseries with their perennials and shrubs are some of the specialist plant nurseries participating. Honey Bee Supplies, Denuius Parsons sculptures, Willowbank and Firepits will add an extra dimension to the outside selling space.
A large marquee will be hosting a range of clothing, shoes and gifts, including; HarperMack, Avanti Shoes, At Last Clothes from Andover and Leatham Cashmere. A smaller marquee will house food stalls, local produce and garden accessories including; Black Mountain Smokery, Cherish Chocolates, wonderful scarecrows from Polly Kettle, The Pot Company with their terracotta pots and wrought iron furniture and The Potting Shed for all those things you can’t live without in the garden. In addition award winning photographer, James Kerr, will be showing his fabulous Garden Photography books.
Admission is £5 on the door or £4.50 from www.redcross.org.uk/rookwoodfair. Parking is free. Tea, coffee and biscuits are available throughout the day, and soup and sausage rolls will be on sale from Welford Estate for lunch.
